Divya Mehra, What’s in your fridge?
This last month I’ve spent a fair amount of time traveling, and have actually been at home for maybe six days in total. So in my fridge, there’s a bunch of take-out indian food, because I haven’t had the time to get groceries. Oh, except for like the most whole milk in the world from 7/11… I had time to get that, of course. That said, the outside of the fridge seemed way more fun to capture. Durga, Domo, Toastface, and some Fanta pop (that my friend jacked from some guy’s place in Brooklyn, and gifted to me (how thoughtful?)) all hangout on the outside and totally do not judge the contents of my fridge.
Divya’s next show, ‘Oh, Canada’ will be opening at MASS MoCA this Saturday, May 26th, 2012. For details visit www.massmoca.org or click on Divya’s website above. Oh, Canada showcases the vast expanse of art made in the country, spanning all media and crossing generations and geography, while also acknowledging that this is one curator’s view and by no means an attempt to present the comprehensive picture of Canadian art. Instead, Oh, Canada focuses mostly on artists less recognized outside of Canada, providing a new glimpse at Canada’s cultural production.
